SAN is a styrene - acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer (English: acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer, English abbreviation SAN) also known AS AS resin, is colorless and transparent thermoplastic resin, with high temperature resistance, excellent gloss and resistance to chemical media, and excellent hardness, rigidity, dimensional stability and high bearing capacity,
Acrylonitrile and styrene as raw materials by suspension polymerization, the use of thermal initiator can also be initiated, can also be prepared by emulsion polymerization, because of the inherent transparency of the resin, it is used to manufacture transparent plastic products.
SAN resins can be processed using common thermoplastic molding methods, such as injection molding, extrusion molding, injection molding, blow molding, and pressure molding. SAN resin has water absorption, so in order to ensure product quality, SAN should be dried before processing and molding.
SAN resins can be reprocessed and their properties change very little. However, if heated too much, the product may change color and become a yellow tint. SAN should not be mixed with other plastics in reprocessing, although they are easily compatible, but also affect the color and transparency of the product.
Post-treatment operations suitable for SAN include hot stamping, painting, screen printing, ultrasonic welding, machining, vacuum spraying, solvent bonding, and most other processing methods for ABS, acrylate resins, and polystyrene.
