Cleaning plastic lunch boxes can be done in several easy ways. Here are some handy tips to keep your lunch box spotless and smelling fresh:

Dish Soap and Milk Method:
First, wash your lunch box with dish soap to get rid of any leftover food. Then, pour in two tablespoons of fresh milk, close the lid, and shake it up so the milk touches every corner. After about a minute, dump out the milk and rinse the lunch box thoroughly with clean water. This method is great for eliminating odors!

Orange Peel Method:
After cleaning your lunch box with dish soap, toss in some fresh orange peels and close it up. Let it sit for 3 to 4 hours. Once the time is up, take out the orange peels and rinse the box with clean water. The natural oils from the orange peels will help neutralize any lingering smells.

Lemon Water Method:
Soak lemon slices in boiling water until the water turns yellow. Then, pour the lemon water into your lunch box and let it sit for about half an hour. Afterward, discard the lemon water and let the lunch box air dry. The citric acid in lemons acts as a natural cleaner and deodorizer.

Vinegar Cleaning Method:
Mix one part vinegar with one part water and pour about a cup of this solution into your lunch box, filling it halfway. Let it sit overnight, then rinse it thoroughly with clean water the next day. This method helps disinfect your lunch box and removes stubborn odors. After cleaning, let it dry in a cool place.

A few extra tips for cleaning plastic lunch boxes:

Avoid using hard brushes or steel wool; they can scratch the surface of your lunch box.

Make sure the inside and outside of the lunch box are completely dry after cleaning to prevent bacteria growth.

If your lunch box has a sealing ring, remove it and clean it separately to keep everything hygienic.

Choose the cleaning method that works best for your lunch box material, the type of dirt, and your personal preference. Regularly cleaning your lunch box ensures it stays hygienic and safe, extending its lifespan.
